Living close to NYC brought amazing opportunities.

Starting a new chapter in Stamford, Connecticut, after getting married in 2020, I faced the challenges of moving on an H4 visa. With the limiting visa, I joined an NGO as an LNT trainer that helped me to build my resume for 2 years. With a background in teaching, I recognized the differences in work culture between India and here, I wanted to help others navigate it. As an etiquette and image consultant, I aimed to bridge the gap by offering soft skill training. I sought to empower women by upskilling them along the way. I realized I needed to change my lifestyle as moving countries, building life from scratch, and the H4 visa comes with its own set of challenges. My daily schedule required new motivation because I was just gaining weight and I was being cranky about it.  I embraced new hobbies like hiking, walking, and water sports, finding fulfillment in life. Living close to NYC brought amazing opportunities, concerts, and experiences. Over the past 2 years, we worked on our relationship as it was an arranged marriage. We aligned with each other, and grew stronger as a couple. Despite the challenges of a single income, my husband supported me with this transition with empathy, support and encouragement to pursue my goals. To utilize our community’s talents, I  started a meetup group “Hunnar” with a friend for South Asian women, offering lectures on various topics and fostering growth. We focus on various areas such as goal setting, health, spirituality, travel, finance, and budgeting. These topics play a crucial role in personal growth and development. It’s time to uplift and build a community together!

People often ask me, “You don’t have kids, you don’t have a job, what do you do with your time?” Well, let me assure you, I am far from killing time. I am dedicated to continuously upskilling myself both professionally and personally.
