H4 visa hit me hard when I started my life here.

In February 2016, I got married and moved to the States with my husband on an H4 visa. Having dedicated ten years to American Express in Gurugram, Delhi NCR,  I was filled with anticipation for the future and the adventures that awaited us. However, the reality of living on an H4 visa hit me hard when I started my life here. Financial dependence became a stark reality, & I couldn’t help but question my own worth and contribution. As a stay-at-home mom to our two children, I yearned for financial independence. Watching everyone around me pursuing their careers or starting their businesses left me feeling unsettled. But despite the challenges, I poured my heart into taking care of our family.

In January 2020, our daughter was born, and I eagerly awaited my mother’s arrival to help me navigate the early days of motherhood. Unfortunately, the pandemic disrupted our plans, and I had to rely on Google and my own instincts to tackle the challenges that came my way. The birth of our other daughter in April 2022 brought further joy to our lives, and I marveled at the contentment we had built together as a family.

Through it all, my husband’s unwavering support and the deep bond we shared as spouses became my pillars of strength. Yet, I couldn’t help but question the purpose of my education and the decision to move to a land of opportunities if I couldn’t fully utilize my skills. In my quest for self-expression, I discovered iscriblr.com, where I could share my poems, stories, and experiences. Though publishing a book remained a distant dream, I found solace in participating in storytelling challenges & honing my craft. As we traveled, I embraced vlogging, documenting our adventures on Instagram.

Motherhood ignited my passion for blogging, where I share the joys and challenges of being a mom. It connects me with fellow moms, provides resources, and celebrates my cultural heritage. Blogging has become my outlet, teaching me to pursue dreams despite obstacles. Now, I’m focused on building my own career, making a positive impact, & embracing the present. Letting go of expectations has opened new doors, and I’m excited for this journey of self-discovery and fulfillment.
